Week #42 - Whose Are You?

Ki Tavo-When You Enter In
Deuteronomy 26:1 - 29:8(9)

Do we belong to the Kingdom of the World or to the Kingdom of Yahweh?

How do we know?

Why, after all these years in the wilderness does Yahweh now say, (Deuteronomy 26:18-19) “Now today Yahweh has affirmed you as His treasured people, as He promised you; that you are to keep all His mitzvot; 19 that He will set you high above all the nations He has made, for praise, fame and honor; and that you are to be a holy people to Yahweh your God, as He has promised.”

Deuteronomy 27:9 “…Be silent and listen, O Israel – this day you have become a people for Yahweh your God.”

Are we feeling our way through life or do we have our senses tuned in to Yahweh’s frequency?

Review the past couple months: fire, Covid, small groups, meeting outside, more fire and smoke (cloud), this church reaching out . . . (Can we see Yahweh’s hand on all these events, or have they just been randomly happening to us?) We have walked from “Possessing the Land” into “Healing and Restoration”

How do we know? Is He our compass?

There has been a shift; a change in the air. It’s not just because school started, and we can feel fall coming; this is Yahweh’s spirit moving us too.

Ki Tavo (When you Enter) is all about preparation for inheriting the Promised Land. (All of Deuteronomy)

Themes:

  1. Firstfruits and Tithes

  2. Affirming the covenant

  3. Altar for Atonement (white plaster, Torah written on it, place on the Mt. cursing, Mt. Ebal)=Yeshua

  4. Place the Blessings on Mt. Gerizim

  5. Reaffirm the covenant and whose they are (slide Deuteronomy 26, 27)

The things we know vs. the things He wants us to learn. Comfort vs. discomfort

Are we wandering through life? Were the Israelites wandering? (Wondering) (Deuteronomy 26 basket demo)

Who has ever done this? Is this foreign? But, haven’t we crossed over? Haven’t we arrived?

Deuteronomy 29:4-5 …But to this day Yahweh has not given you a heart to know, or eyes to see, or ears to hear. I led you 40 years in the wilderness – your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. 5 Bread you have not eaten and wine and strong drink you have not drunk – in order that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.”
If we are walking in covenant with Yahweh, why are this still so many things about Him, about this walk, and about taking this land that are still so foreign and challenging?

If we are walking in covenant with Yahweh, why are this still so many things about Him, about this walk, and about taking this land that are still so foreign and challenging?

  1. New Mindsets

  2. Erev Shabbat

  3. Dressing Differently

Genesis 1:14  Then God said, “Let lights in the expanse of the sky be for separating the day from the night. They will be for signs (oth) and for seasons (mo’ed) and for days and years…”

  • Signs=H226=oth= a signal, as a flag, beacon, monument, evidence

  • Seasons=H4150=an appointment, fixed time, a festival, appointed beforehand

His ways were set before man began (are we doing His ways or the man-made ones?) This is why we are lost at times. Yahweh wants to govern our appointed times.

Jeremiah 31:16-18 “So there is hope for your future” —it is declaration of ADONAI— “when your children will return to their own territory. I indeed heard Ephraim grieving: ‘You have disciplined me— I was disciplined like an untrained calf. Restore me, and I will return, for you are ADONAI my God. For after I returned, I repented, and after that I was instructed, I struck my thigh— I was ashamed and also humiliated, for I bore the disgrace of my youth.’ ”

Jeremiah 31:30-32 “Behold, days are coming” —it is a declaration of ADONAI— “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they broke My covenant, though I was a husband to them.” it is a declaration of ADONAI. “After those days” —it is a declaration of ADONAI— “I will put My Torah within them. Yes, I will write it on their heart. I will be their God and they will be My people. “But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel”

This is our inheritance! Blessings overtake us when we obey.

Structure given on Mt. Sinai?

Malachi 4:4-6  Remember the Torah of Moses My servant, whom I commanded at Horeb — statutes and ordinances for all Israel. “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and terrible day of ADONAI. He will turn the hearts of fathers to the children, and the hearts of children to their fathers—else I will come and strike the land with utter destruction.”

Again, how do we know in our daily lives? We are not meant to just wander about our day, our purpose for life?

Daily-Shema, Torah Portions

Weekly-7 day cycle is Yahweh’s cycle; Shabbat; ask what He is teaching you this week

Colossians 3:23  And Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Master, and not to men.

Seasons-Feast Days

What is our purpose?

What are the challenges of old traditions He is bringing before us now?

Each home, before the Golden calf, would have been their own priests.

John 15:10  If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
