TURNING PRESSURE INTO PURPOSE
Leviticus 12:1 - 13:59
Psalm 34:18-21 The righteous cry out and Adonai hears, and delivers them from all their troubles. Adonai is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those crushed in spirit. Many are the distresses of the righteous, but Adonai delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones—not one of them is broken.
The purpose of pressure
It is YHWH’S Desire for us to “Know Him” and “His Ways.”
It is part of His training, He is preparing was for the purpose for which He created us for. What gift/gifts He gives us.
He is developing in us character, discernment and wisdom.
Character
People prefer the “gift” more than character.
In fact they will overlook the person’s character and even their doctrine, but will receive their gift.
What we need to do is allow YHWH to develop the gift in the individual so that it causes no harm.
I call this “prostituting a prophet.”
Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Ruach, and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.
Ephesians 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be like children, tossed around by the waves and blown all over by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of men with cunning in deceitful scheming.
Discernment
Discernment comes through experience, seeking YHWH in all things.
Asking daily “What are You revealing to me in this situation?”
“What lie am I believing?” “What doctrine I am believing that is incorrect?”
We’ve gotten past asking “What sin have I committed or why me?” Why not me/you?
Hebrews 5:13-14 For anyone living on milk is inexperienced with the teaching about righteousness—he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who through practice have their senses trained to discern both good and evil.
Wisdom
As we mature we learn how to properly minister to others.
We are more concerned about our character than the gift.
James 1:2-6 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all without hesitation and without reproach; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting—for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
Maturity
As we mature, we have learned more than just character, discernment, and wisdom.
We realize we now have credibility, in other words, what we have to say is heard.
We recognize how dependent we are on Yeshua.
We now understand more of how to activate the gift in others as well as ourselves.
We understand, we build credibility, character, wisdom, and discernment, yet favor comes from YHWH.
We are growing in favor with both YHWH and man.
Luke 2:52 And Yeshua kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
1 Samuel 3:19 So Samuel grew up and Adonai was with him, and let none of his words fall to the ground.
Through the process of the testing, the pressure, through all the pain, confusion, doubts, etc.. We come to the place where we realize we are being purged of things that hinder our relationship with Yeshua and our growth to maturity.
We share what YHWH gives us but we now leave the results to Him.
We now have a deeper understanding of the importance of belonging to The Body of Messiah.
The importance of fellowship with others is most desirable. We press in.
Belonging to the Body
1 Corinthians 12:12-18 For just as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of the body—though many—are one body, so also is Messiah. For in one Ruach we were all immersed into one body—whether Jewish or Greek, slave or free—and all were made to drink of one Ruach. For the body is not one part, but many. If the foot says, “Since I’m not a hand, I’m not part of the body,” is it therefore not part of the body? And if the ear says, “Since I’m not an eye, I’m not part of the body,” is it for this reason any less part of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But now God has placed the parts—each one of them—in the body just as He desired.
