How important is the anointing?

Is everyone who is a follower of Yeshua anointed?

What is the anointing anyways?

mâshach -maw-shakh’ A primitive root; to rub with oil, that is, to anoint; by implication to consecrate; also to paint:
- anoint, paint.

According to the Etymological Dictionary of Biblical Hebrew= separate out, smearing insoluble material.

Exodus 28:41 Put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him, and anoint them, consecrate them, and sanctify them, so that they may minister to Me as kohanim.

The anointing is the power of YHWH to empower people to fulfill spiritual assignments, break oppression and catapult people into purpose.

YHWH never calls someone to do something without providing the anointing to accomplish what YHWH sends us to do.

The anointing is one of the most life-giving forces YHWH gives us. We cannot do the works of Yeshua without it.

It is like heavenly dew and rocket fuel mixed into one. There is nothing like anointed teaching, anointed preaching, anointed payers, and atmospheres that are filled with the Presence of YHWH.

In Exodus 29:5-9 YHWH gives very strong directions pertaining to the priesthood. They were to be set apart, then clothed, and then anointed for their priestly duties.

We know we are priests of YHWH.

1 Peter 2:4-5 As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house—a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Messiah Yeshua.

In the spirit realm we have mantles, or supernatural garments which bring life, power, and authority according to our unique assignments. We have garments of righteousness through our acceptance of Yeshua’s full work on the execution stake.

Our anointing is not natural. It is not just oil from a bottle but divine oil from heaven filled with life, strength, and breakthrough. We all have a unique and powerful anointing available to us according to our assignments.

Let’s look at some of the different flows of anointing to us. Wherever there is the anointing, there is divine flow. In order to accomplish the will of YHWH, there is the need for the various types of anointings.

Some of the various anointings are, miracles, healing, prophetic, financial, building, helps, prayer, family, sonship, leadership, music, deliverance, regional, global, corporate, and believer’s. Following are some Scriptures pertaining to these anointings.

Acts 19:11-12 God was doing extraordinary miracles by Paul’s hands, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that touched his skin were brought to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.

Luke 4:40 When the sun was setting, they brought to Yeshua all who were sick with various diseases. And He was laying hands on each one and healing them.

1 Samuel 10:10-11 When they arrived there, at the hill, behold, a band of prophets did meet him, and suddenly, the Ruach of God overtook him, and subsequently, he prophesied among them. So when all who knew him formerly saw him prophesying with the prophets, they said one to another, “What has happened to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?”

Deuteronomy 8:18 Rather you are to remember Adonai your God, for it is He who gives you power to make wealth, in order to establish His covenant that He swore to your fathers—as it is this day.

Matthew 16:18 And I also tell you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My community; and the gates of Sheol will not overpower it.

Isaiah 56:7 these I will bring to My holy mountain, and let them rejoice in My House of Prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar. For My House will be called a House of Prayer for all nations.”

1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of the many-sided grace of God.

John 1:12-13 But whoever did receive Him, those trusting in His name, to these He gave the right to become children (sons) of God. They were born not of a bloodline, nor of human desire, nor of man’s will, but of God.

Mark 10:6-9 But from the beginning of creation, God ‘made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate!”

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I set you apart—I appointed you prophet to the nations.”
