Jacob “SETTLED or LIVED”

This Reminded me of another generation, “THAT LIVED”
(Pastor James & the Jerusalem Council)

Many commentators use this to terminate the “LAW”, BUT the “LAW” is actually the word, Torah.

We should note that the translation of this word “law” is not accurate!… The Hebrew word, torah (תורה), is derived from a root that was used in the realm of archery, yareh (ירה).

Yareh means to shoot an arrow, hit the mark

Sin, chata means to miss the mark!

The mark was the object at which the archer was aiming.

Consequently, TORAH, is to hit the mark!!

The target is the truth about God and how one relates to Him. The Torah is, therefore, in the strict sense THE instruction designed to teach us the truth about God.

Torah means direction, teaching, instruction, or doctrine

This is an actual quote from a leading pastors comment, “One thing that stands out in this letter (Acts 15:20-29) is that the burden of Old Testament law had been lifted by the cross of Jesus Christ. Keeping the laws about circumcision, animal sacrifices and the Sabbath, etc. was no longer required. We can eat bacon! Praise the Lord!“

UNDER THE LAW?? It seems Confusion and condemnation abounds in the early churches… (THEN AND NOW‼)

Acts 15:23 with the following letter: From: The emissaries and the elders, your brothers To: The brothers from among the Gentiles throughout Antioch, Syria and Cilicia: Greetings!

Acts 15:24 We have heard that some people went out from among us without our authorization, and that they have upset you with their talk, unsettling your minds.

But this letter explains the basic concepts: Acts 15:28-29 For it seemed good to the Ruach HaKodesh and to us not to lay any heavier burden on you than the following requirements: to abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from fornication. If you keep yourselves from these, you will be doing the right thing. Shalom!

But as they explained in their intent: Acts 15:21 “For from the earliest times, Moshe has had in every city those who proclaim him, with his words being read in the synagogues every Shabbat."

Were they implying that the Torah was finished??

NO, INDEED NO‼

They want them to learn the Torah every Sabbath by the NEW COVENANT‼

Let’s remember - The Torah will be written on the minds and hearts of all who believe in MESSIAH!

Numbers 15:16 The same Torah and standard of judgment will apply to both you and the foreigner living with you.

But, Galatians 5:14 For the entire Torah is fulfilled in one word, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

Where is the Submissive HEART??

Why do we expect the “GOD WHO DOESN’T CHANGE” to change??

Flesh demands “OUR WAY”??… “BUT I WANT MY BACON AND SHRIMP”‼

The rebellious nature is telling God that I must satisfy my flesh‼

They early believers were “ZEALOUS” for the Torah‼

From the prophesy of Micah; Micah 4:2 Many Gentiles will go and say, "Come, let's go up to the mountain of ADONAI, to the house of the God of Ya'akov! He will teach us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Tziyon will go forth Torah, the word of ADONAI from Yerushalayim.

Romans 2:13-14 For it is not merely the hearers of Torah whom God considers righteous; rather, it is the doers of what Torah says who will be made righteous in God's sight. For whenever Gentiles, who have no Torah, do naturally what the Torah requires, then these, even though they don't have Torah, for themselves are Torah!

Those that want out…(Flesh demands)

Romans 7:6 But now we have been released from this aspect of the Torah, because we have died to that which had us in its clutches, so that we are serving in the new way provided by the Spirit and not in the old way of outwardly following the letter of the law.

But then Paul emphasis this…

Romans 7:7 Therefore, what are we to say? That the Torah is sinful? Heaven forbid! Rather, the function of the Torah was that without it, I would not have known what sin is. For example, I would not have become conscious of what greed is if the Torah had not said, "Thou shalt not covet."

Can there be a Spirit of the Torah??
Remember “GOD DOESN’T CHANGE!”

Romans 8:1-9 Therefore, there is no longer any condemnation awaiting those who are in union with the Messiah Yeshua.

Why? Because the Torah of the Spirit, which produces this life in union with Messiah Yeshua, has set me free from the "Torah" of sin and death.

For what the Torah could not do by itself, because it lacked the power to make the old nature cooperate, God did by sending His own Son as a human being with a nature like our own sinful one [but without sin]. God did this in order to deal with sin, and in so doing he executed the punishment against sin in human nature,

So that the just requirement of the Torah might be fulfilled in us who do not run our lives according to what our old nature wants but according to what the Spirit wants.

For those who identify with their old nature set their minds on the things of the old nature, but those who identify with the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Having one's mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having one's mind controlled by the Spirit is life and shalom.

For the mind controlled by the old nature is hostile to God, (Demanding our flesh rights) because it does not submit itself to God's Torah - indeed, it cannot.

Thus, those who identify with their old nature cannot please God.

But YOU, YOU (Tell someone he talking to YOU‼) YOU do not identify with your old nature but with the Spirit - provided the Spirit of God is living inside you, for anyone who doesn't have the Spirit of the Messiah doesn't belong to him.

CAN YOU, DO YOU SUBMIT TO GOD’S SPIRIT?? OR THE FLESH??

James 4:7 So humble yourselves, submit yourselves unto God, and the Ruach‼. Resist the realms of sin, death, darkness or ha satan, and he will flee from you.

God is the same today, just as he was yesterday‼

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, And shall not stand in the path of sinners, And shall not sit in the seat of scoffers, But his delight is in the Torah of יהוה, And he meditates in His Torah day and night.

You are being trained to be the Israel of Yahweh.
