VA’ERA - And I Appeared
Exodus 6:2-3 God spoke further to Moses and said to him, “I am Adonai. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as El Shaddai. Yet by My Name, Adonai, I made Myself known to them?
רָאָה ra’ah - to appear, to see, experience, to see or perceive someone or something H7200
ַעָד yada, odi to know-be intimate, to know by experience, find out and discern H3045
YHWH made His Presence known to the patriarchs, they just did not know the totality of who He is.
Matthew 22:34-38 But the Pharisees, when they heard that Yeshua had silenced the Sadducees, gathered together in one place. And testing Him, one of them, a lawyer, asked, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Torah?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.
What disqualifies someone from ministry?
Is it lying? Or stealing, sexual immorality, greed, murder, idolatry, etc.?
What about not “loving YHWH with all our heart?”

Listen to the Va'era Sermon
It is having a pastor's heart, intercession, praying for all, even those that falsely accuse you?
Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart. Examine me, and know my anxious thoughts, and see if there be any offensive way within me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Zechariah 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the kohen gadol standing before the angel of Adonai and the satan, standing at his right hand to accuse him. Adonai said to the satan, ‘Adonai rebukes you, the satan. Indeed Adonai, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. Is not this man a brand plucked out of the fire?’ Now Joshua was wearing filthy garments and standing before the angel
James 3:4-5 See also the ships—though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member—yet it boasts of great things. See how so small a fire sets a blaze so great a forest!
James 3:8-11 But no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless Adonai and Father, and with it we curse people, who are made in the image of God. From the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be. A spring doesn’t pour out fresh and bitter water from the same opening, does it?
Matthew 22:39 And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire Torah and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
